Our group has had the good for­tune of host­ing the fol­low­ing work­shop speak­ers: Robert Blaschke, David Cochrane, Glo­ria Star, Rick Levine, and many other noted astrologers. Below is a list of our most recent guests.

Robert Tip­pett - Sun­day Nov 13, 2011

The Astrol­ogy of Nos­tradamus - Nos­tradamus is a fas­ci­nat­ing seer from the 1500s. Robert Tip­pett is an expert on his writ­ings and will talk about some of the ele­ments of the sys­tems embed­ded in the writ­ing style of Nostradamus, and the astro­log­i­cal lan­guage found in his let­ters and qua­trains to under­stand the pic­tures he was see­ing. Roberts illus­trates that under­stand­ing Nos­tradamus is best left for each per­son to see for them­selves, given the proper keys on how to read his qua­trains. Astrol­ogy is a rel­a­tively minor part of the whole pic­ture, but those versed in the astro­log­i­cal lan­guage will under­stand some of his allu­sions that oth­ers may not. Robert has spent many years sort­ing through the writ­ings, the qua­trains, and trans­lat­ing the Old French to find an epic story enfolded in the whole.

The Five Ele­ments of Chi­nese and Tibetan Astrol­ogy - The Five Ele­ments of Chi­nese and Tibetan astrol­ogy present an ele­men­tal the­ory that is dynamic, rela­tional and essen­tially under­stood by prac­ti­tion­ers as bring­ing together the earth and sky into a type of cos­mic order. For the ancients, there had to be five ele­ments: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. At times there was great oppo­si­tion to this as com­pet­ing sys­tems bat­tled for a more log­i­cal view but the sim­plic­ity of the Five Ele­ments can be as eas­ily under­stood as well as four ele­ments can.

An active mem­ber of the astro­log­i­cal com­mu­nity, she’s the found­ing pres­i­dent of the Astro­log­i­cal Soci­ety of Austin, as well as a mem­ber of the ISAR national board and a for­mer mem­ber of the NCGR national board.
